And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.

(Acts 5:42)

Text Box: i am saved!

There is no greater joy than to know that the meaning of life is to love and serve God.  There is no greater peace than to know that eternal life is assured in Jesus Christ.

God loves his children; they love his Son Jesus.

“Have you no wish for others to be saved?  Then you are not saved yourself.  Be sure of that.”

- Charles Spurgeon

For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldy, as I ought to speak.

(Ephesians 6:20)

The greatest gift you could ever give to your fellow man is the message of salvation… the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  If you are saved, then you will want to obey God by doing what he commandsAnd being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;  (Hebrews 5:9)

The Great Commandment

Master, which is the great commandment in the law?  Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.  This is the first and great commandment.

(Matthew 22:36-38)

Because you are saved, you love God and want to please him.  You want to put him first in all you do.  You don’t even want to think what your life would be like without the peace, joy and hope the love of Christ gives you.  Why?  Because you love your salvation!

And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

(Matthew 22:39)

If you love your salvation, then you should love Christ.  If you love Christ, then you should love your neighbor.  Therefore, if you love your salvation, then you should love your neighbor.  If you love your neighbor, then, as thyself, you should want him to love his salvation.  For him to love his salvation, he should love Christ.  For him to love Christ, he should know about Christ.  For him to know about Christ, he should hear about Christ.  For him to hear about Christ, someone should tell him about Christ.  Therefore, if you love your neighbor, then you should tell him about Christ.  Perfect spiritual love in Christ makes perfect logical sense!  A famous preacher, Charles Spurgeon, once said, “Have you no wish for others to be saved?  Then you are not saved yourself.  Be sure of that.”  Freely you have received your salvation by the grace of God through Jesus Christ; freely give the message of salvation to your neighbor.  Who is your neighbor?  Anyone who needs anything you have that God has given you, which is everything you have.

On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

(Matthew 22:40)

This is what you share with your neighbor about Christ.  You start with God’s law, the Ten Commandments, and show your neighbor that he hasn’t kept the law and can’t keep the law; therefore he is a lawbreaker and the penalty for breaking God’s law is eternal death.  Then you finish with the prophets, showing your neighbor from scripture that Jesus is the Savior, and that God accepts Jesus’ suffering and death as payment for his breaking God’s law, and the reward for believing in God’s Son is eternal life.

The Great Commission

And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.  Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.

(Matthew 28:18-20)

Jesus gave this final instruction to his disciples before He ascended into heaven.  Hebrews 4:12 tells us, “For the word of God is quick…”  That word ‘quick’ means ‘living’, meaning Jesus commissions US, right now, just as he commissioned them.  What is our commission?

1. Go to the lost everywhere, wherever they are, actively and lovingly seeking them

2. Teach them using the law (Ten Commandments) and the prophets (Jesus Christ)

3. Baptize them into the name of Jesus Christ, so they will receive the Holy Spirit

4. Teach them to obey God in everything they do
